for an Author’s Box
Article writing is a great way to distinguish
yourself as an expert in your industry. The most important element
of article writing is
the About the Author section, also known as the Author’s Box,
Byline, or Resource Box. This is where you compel the reader to learn
more about your product or service by positioning yourself as a resource.
This is where you create a call to action to motivate the reader
to visit your website.
The most effective byline positions the writer
as an expert or specialist in one area. Many writers have three or
four different bylines they
use for articles with different target markets.

3 Example of a fully leveraged author’s box:
John Doe
is a Consultant based in Name of City, State. He is a credentialed
member of the Association of Certified Consultants and works
exclusively with CEOs and Executives who want to improve communication

Important Points:
• Listing your city and state helps
your search results when prospects add a city and state in their
search
• Listing your credentials gives you credibility
•
Who is your target client? You want prospects to say “Hey! That
sounds like me”.
• Motivate prospects to visit your site by providing a giveaway report.
