do now?
I’m considering hiring a business coach.
Where do I start?
The process begins with a Complimentary Coaching Session
via telephone. This is where we determine if coach and client are a good
fit. The
session usually takes 30 minutes via telephone. An in-person session
can be arranged
in certain situations. We can work on an issue of your choosing during
the session, or we can explore where you are and where you want to
go with your business. We usually design an action item for you to
complete
by the end of the session.

How does business coaching work?
We coach our clients via
telephone three times per month for the first full three weeks of the
month. Clients call at the same
time on the same
day for either 30-minute or 45-minute sessions. The last week
of the month is free for clients to complete big goals.

What are
the packages and payment terms?
Please see the Coaching Packages
Page for pricing. Average fees range from $150 per month to $2000 plus per
month depending
on the format
(group or individual) and frequency of coaching. If you
begin coaching mid-month,
your fee is prorated.
We advocate effortless business administration in our
coaching philosophy; therefore we prefer that clients
pay via credit
card. We bill clients
automatically on the first of every month for that
month’s
sessions. We prefer American Express, but we also accept
Visa and MasterCard.

Who might need a business coach?
People from all walks of
life find business coaching useful. We work with small business
owners, entrepreneurs, and
financial advisors.
Many of our clients feel lost, directionless, don’t
know how to take their business to the next level,
or feel disorganized. They
may need
a support network that includes accountability.
We also work with extremely successful business
owners who may want to explore what’s next for them.
Whether it’s
getting the business ready to sell, creating a
new product/service line, or just
creating
a life outside work.

What’s the difference between
coaching and consulting?
A consultant is usually an
expert in a specific industry, will give you answers to all your
questions, and may
even implement
strategies
and
programs for you. A coach will ask probing
questions to bring out your unique abilities, help you create
a vision
and plan
for the
future,
and will stay with you while you implement
changes. A coach holds you accountable
for what you say you’ll do, gives you
a push to do more than you would do on your
own, and helps
you overcome limiting beliefs that
are
holding you back from success.

Is it important to
hire a certified coach?
Yes, it’s very important!
Ensure your coach is either certified by the International
Coach Federation (ICF) or is working
towards certification. There are many people
calling themselves a coach
today who have had no
formal training. Many have taken to adding the
word “coach” to
their title hoping to ride the coaching bandwagon.
Make sure your potential coach has received coach-specific
training from an ICF-accredited coach
training school. The ICF is an independent organization
that certifies coaches.

What’s the difference
between coaching and therapy?
A therapist focuses
on the past and delves into issues that require specialized training.
A coach also has
specialized training that
helps clients focus
on the future and move beyond feeling “stuck”.
A coach is your accountability partner in success
and can help you discover
your
passion, values, and strengths.

How long do clients
typically work with a coach?
Many successful entrepreneurs
are finding that business coaching is the key to excellent performance,
learning
and enjoyment.
Therefore, they
choose to work with a coach on a continuing basis.
We ask clients to make a commitment to coach
for a minimum of six months. Any new behaviors
and
marketing
strategies
put
into practice
today may
take from three to six months to show results.
While coaching can be very effective for
short-term change,
our clients
stay with
coaching an average of 12 to 18 months, some
longer. The learning that takes
place
creates results that continue for one to
three years. Business Coaching is not meant to be a "quick fix"
or a short-term relationship.

How can I be sure my confidential information
is safe with you?
We do not talk about our clients.
As members of the International Coach Federation
(ICF),
we maintain
strict confidentiality
for all your business
and personal information.

Who does the work?
Client or coach?
This is your business and the responsibility
for success rests with you. We will guide
you, provide
resources,
encourage action,
and
be your accountability
partner.

Do you ever let a client go?
There have been a few limited
situations where we have had to discontinue the coaching relationship.
We always discuss expectations with the client and allow time to make changes
and
remedy the problems.
Some of the reasons we have stopped coaching a client include:
• Repeatedly not calling in at the scheduled time or missing the session
without prior notice.
• Repeatedly not being prepared for the appointment.
• A pattern of rescheduling appointments without 24 hours notice.
• A lack of respect for our time.
• Not taking responsibility for their actions.
• Lack of progress, repeatedly not doing homework.
• Repeated negative attitude or blaming others.
• A need for counseling rather than coaching.
